University of Warsaw, Faculty of Oriental Studies, Department of Turkic Studies and Inner Asian Peoples, Centre for Azerbaijani Studies in cooperation with International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, Karaim Heritage Foundation have the honour to invite you to submit your paper to The International Conference on Turkic Studies.
The conference will take place from 13th to 14th November, 2025 in Warsaw, Poland. We are inviting proposals for papers and panels in the domains of language, literature, history, culture, society, and politics, and philology of the Turkic peoples. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
– Linguistics, glottodidactics, and the teaching of Turkic languages
– History and cultural studies
– Literary studies
– Political and social sciences
– Religious studies
– Postcolonial studies
– Nationalism studies
– Minority studies
– Interdisciplinary research related to the Turkic world
– Issues of identity, power structures, cultural transformations, and geopolitical challenges
– Diaspora and migration studies
GENERAL INFORMATION
- The main language of the Conference is English.
- Paper and panel proposals (in English) of 250 to 300 words, including a short bibliography (no more than five references) and 5-8 keywords, as well as a brief biography including the author’s institution, their level of study (doctoral, postdoctoral), and their research subjects should be sent to turkicconference2025@uw.edu.pl by 30 July, 2025 at the latest.
- Panels should comprise 3 or 4 papers.
- All abstracts will be subject to a review process.
- The results will be announced by 30 July, 2025.
- Papers should be limited to 15–20 minutes and must be presented in person by the author(s).
- Each session will conclude with a discussion.
